Who is Library Update?
About Lucy
Lucy Rieger is President, owner and founder of Library Update and has worked with legal and tax professionals for the last 40 years.
Lucy is a Certified Records Manager with a Masters in Library Science from Rutgers. As a law librarian her area of law expertise is tax, and she is a specialist in library and records administration and technical services.
As a professional she handles information on all levels- from knowing where to find it, how to organize it, and how to dispose of it. Other expertise includes negotiating contracts with information providers such as LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters and others, and all aspects of operating technical services, evaluating and building collections, budgeting, weeding, re-locating, and downsizing records and libraries.
On the records management side Lucy’s specialty is the creation of Records Retention Schedules, negotiating storage vendor contracts, with an eye to box inventory reduction, defensible deletion of electronic records and writing policies and procedures for Information Management as well as managing special records department projects.
Lucy is the president of ARMANNJ, an ARMA International Annual Conference presenter of A Roadmap to a Records Retention Schedule Workshop, and a past president of New Jersey Law Librarians Association.
On March 7 Lucy will be presenting an educational program for ARMA NY on “Legal Research for the Records Retention Schedule: How, Where and What-Not?”
